KW Massage Therapist discusses massage therapy and weight loss
by Doni Spencer
Massage Therapy can help you lose weight?
Are you stressed? Have you gained some weight over the last couple of years, and can’t seem to get rid of it, like you could before…stress could be keeping you from shedding the extra weight.
Some stress is ok, but studies show that a constant barrage of stress takes its toll on our bodies. Our bodies respond in a variety of ways – skin rashes, dry scalp, insomnia, weight gain, exhaustion, and those are only some of the responses we can see. There are many, many affects going on inside of us, too that we can’t see – high blood pressure, anxiety, addictive disorders, and heart disease, and it only gets worse, the longer stress is allowed to rule. Any of this sounding familiar? Chronic stress is the culprit!
So here we are, all stressed out and it doesn’t feel like there’s anything we can do to stop it. We still need to work, to look after our families, and have no energy to work on ourselves. Hold on – there is a wonderful solution to stop the cycle!!
Massage Therapy! Yep. Massage Therapy can give you the time you need to start to cope with stress. It allows your body to relax, as you drift into a meditative state. With this “time out”, you stop the continuous cycle of stress. Once the cycle is broken, your body is able to cope with your stress without being in constant overdrive, and you will be able to lose weight. A regular diet of massage therapy treatments will allow you to live a healthier lifestyle!
