Chocolate is Not a Sin!
No, chocolate is not a sin! And you don’t need to ask for forgiveness after you indulge. The truth is that dark chocolate is packed with healthy, disease-killing chemicals such as flavonoids and theobromine. And the source of it all is the seed of the cacao tree.
The cacao tree, a native of South and Central America, is the source of all chocolate pleasure! It grows in moist conditions just under the canopy of the rainforest. The seeds of the cacao tree are fermented, roasted and ground into a paste sometimes referred to as the “liquor”. The centres of these seeds are more than 50% cocoa butter, and this paste or “liquor” is the base of all chocolate and cocoa products.
Unfortunately, on its own, this liquor has a bitter, nasty taste. And that’s where we run into trouble. Milk, sugar and butter are often added in different proportions to improve the taste, and these are not healthy ingredients.
The amount of milk that’s added to the liquor will determine whether you have sweet, semisweet or bittersweet chocolate. Milk chocolate is made from fresh whole milk added to the liquor, and white chocolate — which some say is not really chocolate — is a mixture of cocoa butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla flavoring. Beware of artificial vanillin being added as a flavouring instead of pure vanilla, and also milk solids instead of whole milk. Some dark chocolates may also contain milk products.
Chocolate is held wrongly responsible for many health problems and most are due to the refined sugar that’s added to the liquor.
So, stick to Healthy Chocolate in small doses. Yes it does exist. Look for at least 70% cacao (or cocoa in its roasted, ground form) and you will be able to reap the benefits.

“We have specifically formulated our hand crafted chocolate as a deeply nourishing food, not a confection. Our chocolate contains the world’s most nutrient dense highly mineralized cacao and unrefined sun dried cane juice available. Synergistically these ingredients provide a deliciously profound magical experience.”
