Custom Orthotics

Foot showing heel painAt KW Health Connection, our priority is on total body health. From head to toe, each part of your body must be considered to be truly healthy. It’s all too easy to forget about your feet. If you have faulty foot mechanics or improper walking patterns, you can experience pain in the low back, hip, knee or ankle. Our team has the skills to assess and determine whether you can benefit from wearing custom-made orthotics.

Do You Need Orthotics?

If you have supination or foot pronation, your muscles may be weak or inhibited. Rehabilitation can help address such problems. While going through rehabilitation, however, orthotics can keep you participating in your favorite activities without further damage occurring. If rehabilitation isn’t enough to help you recover, orthotics can relieve pain and prevent any further damage to your body.

How to Get Your Orthotics

The first step is to have a thorough assessment with our practitioners. We’ll perform all the necessary testing to determine if you’re a good candidate for custom-made orthotics or custom-created footwear. If so, we will place an order through Atlas Footwear.

Runners, Take Care of Your Feet

There are several common types of injuries that runners commonly experience. These include

  • Runner’s knee. The cartilage under the kneecap can become irritated. You’ll find that the pain gets worse after a long run, sitting for a while or while going down the stairs.
  • Achilles tendonitis. Your Achilles tendon connects to two large muscles in the calf. When under stress, the tendon can tighten and get irritated.
  • Hamstring issues. The muscle on the back of the thigh is responsible for extending our leg. If tight or weak, you’ll notice it immediately.
